A Hybrid SUV is a kind of vehicle which gains power by gasoline engine with an electric motor while Crossover SUV is a kind of vehicle which possesses some of the features of a station wagon or a van. The term of Crossover was firstly used in 1987. Some of the sources say that the term Crossover began as a marketing term and an article in CNN Money (2008) included that “many consumers cannot tell the difference between an SUV and a crossover.” In U.S in 2006, the sales of Crossover made up more than 50% of the overall SUV market. In 2007 their sales increased up to 16%. Crossovers can be said as alternatives of station wagons which are unpopular in U.S and that are why Crossover was designed. But by the 2012 model of Crossover, domestic automakers have at once caught up. Crossovers are usually used as front wheel drive. They possess a lower sense of gravity. Dodge Magnum, Subaru Legacy station wagon, Ford Freestyle, Mercedes-Benz Grand Sport Touring, Lexus RX400 hybrid, Toyota Highlander hybrid etc are some of the crossovers which are arriving soon in the world’s market. Crossovers are quite efficient as compared to trucks and its looks and design is quite modern and up to date in reference to the modern requirements and choices.
